Monday September 24 - Pre-weigh in for the LA Tenri Tournament at our Dojo. For all of you who are planning on attending the LA Tenri 50th Anniversary Tournament on Sunday September 30th, here is an opportunity to weigh in at our Dojo and sleep in a couple of hours on Sunday. We were originally scheduled to do this on Thursday, but at the request of LA Tenri we are changing the date.
Thursday September 27 - Gardena Judo Club Shiai. Please show up early to help set up the mats so we can start at 6:30 P.M.
Saturday September 29 - Anai Judo Clinic, sponsored by LA Tenri at John Glenn High school. For more information check out the Nanka Website Anai Judo Clinic

We have been asked to run a scoring table at this tournament, If you would like to learn how, please come to our shiai on Thursday where you can learn all about pooling, scoring and timing while watching the shiai.
Sunday October 14 - Nanka Open Team Championships. Nanka's annual team tournament where competitors compete in teams of three. The Gardena Judo Club pays the entrance fee. See your sensei if you would like to compete.

Annual Scholarship
The Gardena Judo Club gives out an annual scholarship. The Scholarship is for students who have completed 12 years of general education and are currently enrolled in College, Jr. College or trade school.
The students must meet the following requirements;
1) The student must be in good standing with the club and current on all dues and payments to the club.
2) The student must submit in writing a short essay denoting future plans in furthering his or her education along with their High School G.P.A to the President before October 27, 2011
The applications will be reviewed at the November Board meeting and the Scholarship Awards will be made at the Christmas Party.
